Benefits of Hiring a Virtual Assistant

Now that we have the basics of a Virtual Assistant or Business Consultant in mind from Blog 'What is a VA', lets look at some of the benefits. Now I might be a little biased however I believe that a top notch VA strives to deliver the best outcomes not only for the business they work for but also for their own business (in cases when they are the sole traders).
Reputation and referrals are key drivers.

I think it boils down to a minimum of 3 DRIVERS!
1.   What drives them
2.   They use their own online drives (oh come on.. I had to!)
3.   You can drive them in the direction you need to, for your own business objectives!

Their drive - They strive to deliver
I personally believe that sole trader VA’s are committed to providing high quality work and service because it’s not only their source of revenue but they are small business owners themselves and they understand only too well, the challenges of small business struggles in today’s David and Goliath industry/battlefield! They also understand that their longevity and reputation are totally dependent on their service delivery to you and your customer service experience. Many professional VA’s are experienced in specific areas that would otherwise cost the business owner 2 and 3 times more to appoint such as Marketing and business development services. Smart business.

Some professional VA’s can perform these (less technical) tasks for a fraction of the price that a Marketing Company or Business Consultant would charge. Small businesses have to be smart and frugal, why pay through the nose for services you might be able to outsource to an affordable service provider like a VA.

They love being productive and generally are highly resourceful.
Great VA’s strive to exceed expectations.
Sadly, sometimes full time employees can have a ‘clock on clock off mentality’…productivity and commitment can waiver for a variety of factors. Many VA’s were Executive Assistants in their previous (or still current) professional lives and EA’s and PA’s are generally regarded as the ‘go-to’ person in an organisation. They are usually the ‘get it done’ type of worker, they are versatile and no task is too menial or too hard, they love challenges. Sole trader VA’s also rely on referrals and repeat business, it is always in their best interest to provide top quality work.

What a match made in heaven for small businesses looking for a hands on, all-round support person to work in collaboration with for better business outcomes.  I guarantee you, if one of these high quality, professional VA’s walked in the door as your small business employee, you would never want them to leave!

They use their own drives!
What a brilliant cost effective solution for small business owners, the busy clients or Execs.

Save time and Money

You get the tasks done when you need it. No idle time wasting $ if workloads are reduced due to seasonal factors, lows in customer activity or holiday periods. Other benefits include that a good VA will get to know your business and your needs and intuitively provide advice, support and help you grow your business. Just like a Virtual business Partner.

You only pay for the time spent on the specific task at hand (no lunch or tea breaks) you get high productivity for your dollar.

Flexibility of tailor made packages or plans. Businesses can work with the VA on a mutually agreeable project including timeframe and price. This can be adjusted to suit the business and can be one-off or ongoing.

Access a specific skill set that suits your current need and use it for business growth not just to free up your own time for personal ventures... but to get back time to focus on your other business priorities.

A good VA will do the work on time and within scope... a Great VA will get to know your business, your needs and intuitively provide advice, support and help you grow your business.

Drive and Direction
You can drive the VA’s focus in the direction you want so you can focus on other work priorities, your business growth and your core business activities. Have the VA perform your non profitable tasks which allows you to get out there and focus on your business plan and objectives.

Reduce your stress. Outsource the tasks that you particularly find stressful or time consuming. Great VA’s can perform some tasks ten times faster than you can. Stress less, get back more precious time.  Now doesn’t that sound perfect! Increase your work/life balance. Spend more time with your family or doing what you really want to do (hobbies, personal development, holidays even!).
